Hand Sand Hands

Based in Chicago, Illinois, Hand Sand Hands is the experimental lo-fi bedroom pop project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Miller. Blending ramshackle psychedelic rock, post-shoegaze textures, hazy indie pop, and intimate home recordings, the project developed a devoted cult following throughout the 2010s for its deeply personal songwriting and beautifully imperfect production style.

Signed to Autumn + Colour in 2014, Hand Sand Hands released three acclaimed records through the label: Lord of Talk, Good Luck with That, and The Shipping Forecast. Each release expanded Miller's distinctive sonic world, layering dreamy guitars, tape-worn textures, and introspective lyricism into songs that felt equally nostalgic and experimental.

Rejecting polished production in favor of atmosphere and authenticity, Hand Sand Hands embraced the beauty of imperfection. The project's understated approach and emotionally resonant songwriting made it a standout within the independent underground, offering listeners a collection of songs that feel intimate, cinematic, and quietly unforgettable.
